The Tuli Block

The Tuli Block is known for its arresting topography - Solomon's Wall, the Tswapong and Lepokole Hills - natural beauty, abundant wildlife, diverse avifauna and archaeological heritage.

The Tuli Block is the thin strip of land along Botswana’s southeastern border, at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe rivers. Cut by rivers and gorges, it contains an abundance of wildlife, a profusion of birds and fascinating topography.

At Mashatu Game Reserve, you can view large herds of elephant, prides of lion, cheetah, leopard and their prey from open 4WDs on morning and night game drives. Deep in the bush, rustic Mashatu Tent Camp provides every facility for up to 14 guests. Mashatu Main Camp accommodates a maxium of 34 and more luxurious. Both camps are under the same ownership as Mala Mala and provide the highest standards of service, comfort and cuisine. Mashatu offers an exhilarating mountain bike safaris – with an armed tracker and a supplies vehicle following at a discreet distance – and horse safaris.

On the banks of the Limpopo River, Tuli Safari Lodge provides attractive thatched chalets accommodating from two to eight. On the two daily game drives in Mashatu Game Reserve, look for some of the 350 recorded bird species, waterbuck, eland, elephant, cheetah, lion – some black maned – and leopard, and, at night, caracal, aardwolf, hyena and jackal.

Air Botswana's scheduled service now links the Tuli Block with Johannesburg and other points in Botswana.
