Cheetah and wild dog are also found in the area.

JACANA SAFARI
BOTSWANA WING SAFARI
24 - 27 December, 2002:
Upon arrival at Maun Airport, a Wilderness Safaris representative will meet and transfer you by light aircraft to the Chitabe airstrip and by road from the airstrip to Chitabe Camp. Stay 3 nights including all meals, game activities, laundry and drinks (except imported premium brands).
Chitabe is a luxurious camp built on one of the most beautiful islands in the Okavango Delta, in a private area that is bordered on three sides by the Moremi Game Reserve. The area is surrounded by waterways and lagoons that harbours a wonderful variety of wildlife.
Accommodation consists of eight spacious East African style tents built on elevated wooden decks, beneath the lush tree canopy. Each tented room has en suite facilities with flush toilets, and a shower and basin with hot and cold running water. The thatched dining area, lounge and pub are also raised on decks overlooking the surrounding flood plains. A pool allows guests to cool off. Activities include day and night game drives in open 4x4 vehicles accompanied by an experienced guide. Shorter nature walks are sometimes offered. Game viewing is good, and includes Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, Leopard, Reedbuck, Lechwe, Impala, Zebra and Hippo. Wild dogs are sometimes sighted. Night drives can be very rewarding with good sightings of the rarer nocturnal animals. Access into this area is only by aircraft.
27 - 29 December,2002
After the morning game activity and brunch, you depart for the Chitabe airstrip for the light aircraft transfer to the Xigera Airstrip. Road transfer to Xigera Camp, where you stay 2 nights on an all-inclusive basis.
Xigera Camp (pronounced Keejera) is in the heart of the Okavango on Paradise Island, within the Moremi Game Reserve and located in an area surrounded by permanent water. Xigera consists of eight luxuriously furnished walk-in tented rooms, with en-suite facilities, built within a shady forest. Each is raised off the ground and offers superb views of the floodplain to the east of camp
and its attractive waterhole. The dining and pub area is under thatch overlooking the river that flows past the camp. Activities focus mainly on mokoro and boating rides through the quiet waterways, as well as walking safaris. Many guests are lucky enough to get good views of the elusive Sitatunga antelope. Game drives are offered if water levels are low enough.
Birding is excellent, with Pels Fishing Owl, Slaty Egret and Wattled Crane among the many species of birds regularly sighted. Xigera has exclusive rights to this area, providing a tranquil and private setting for its guests. It also has a unique feature: the footbridge in front of camp is the only way predators can cross from island to island without having to swim. A "long-jump pit" has been built with soft sand, which each animal is forced to walk over when they use the bridge. Every evening the sand is raked smooth. Each morning guests are able to see what animals have walked through camp.
29th December:
After the morning game activity and brunch, depart from Xigera Camp and transfer to the airstrip for the light aircraft trasnfer to Maun Airport.
